Other Old pre-tech jump gate

Locked in geosyncrunys orbit around a white dwarf. When the sector was colonised the spot was chosen to host the sector's first jump gate. There were other contenders, most colonized worlds would have wanted it in their system, but the advantageous central position in the sector made the desicion in the end an easy one.

After the scream the jump gate was lost and only in 2941 was it rediscovered. Falling quickly to ravenous scavengers any hope of restoring it to function vanished. In the husk of the old Mandate a new community of opportunist, savengers and other drifters grew. And soon the gate was a sprawling hub of traffic, its location still prime for sector travel.

Business on the Origin Station

12 days later after a few uneventful Spike drills origin Station welcomed you. Making contact with a buyer of the salvage, a Pallis Dai at the Yorki Lounge, you found him willing to take things off your hands. Minakshi sent message to buyer of the lab notes to verify interest and set up meeting (sent SD-3167.04.24).

The embassy job

Needing time for the message to travel fou sought and found work. Helena Floros at the CAUP Welcome centre had need of discreet assets. The job was to infiltrate the Hegemony embassy and find out what was in the cargo they keep under extra guard.

FTSB 2-3

Preparing the infiltration

You spent a few days surveying the embassy and realized a very good way in was to pose as janitorial personnel, which the embassy has contracted out. A few swift blows to the head and Cameron and Mr Gown got themselves some spiffy new uniforms and cracked IDs.

In the Embassy

Disguised as janitorial services Cameron and Mr Gown gained access to the Hegemony Embassy where they begun their snooping around. The suspicious goods were quickly located and identified. Two containers marked Waveform Ent and one Phantasm Microsystems. While inside some line shuts were also placed to infiltrate the data systems.

Outside the Embassy

Outside Colin and Minakshi took up position to be able to assist if needed. While waiting a small gathering begun to grow, a protest against the Hegemony common practice of indentured servitude. Things got more heated as the protesters started denying entrance and a hegemony agitator directly challenged the blockade. Colin, who had joined the protesters decided to punch her which caused the protest turn into a small scuffle and forced Hegemony guards to intervene.

Making up appearances

After the scuffle Minakshi got the great idea to present themselves as "good Samaritans" who gave the Hegemony reason to disperse it. When the two were left in a meeting room to wait for someone higher up Minakshi was into position to download the Hegemony databanks. After discreetly delivering the dataslab to Cameron to make sure it finishes everyone settled down.

The Bomb

Settled down also did a foodcart next to the Hegemony entrance, which proceeded to blow up. As the embassy went into lockdown Mr Gown got out. Minakshi and Colin were taken to a gathering area, for their protection. And Cameron dodged the guards for as long as possible but were forced to use her Psionic abilities to teleport away before the download was finished.

Questions, questions and more questions

Mr Gown and Minakshi found themselves after the bomb incident ushered into a gathering room. The guards, the release of any and all electronic devices, and the intermittent questioning gave the feeling of a detention area. The interrogator, Lord Nikiton von Mafa, gave all the detainees several questioning sessions. During one Minakshi dropped the name of a feared Hegemony secret governmental organisation and that she were on a mission by them. Due to their nature verifications were difficult and all Lord von Mafa had to go on was Minakshi's (bogus) story.

Electronic trail

Getting back to the ship in one piece Mr Gown noticed the ships communication relay, of which managed all your communications, was being probed. Knowing enough he managed to set up various traps for those trying to find out its location and elude discovery.

FTSB 4-3

Away from the Embassy

As the questioning dragged on a Hegemony staff came delivering nourishment, flavoured nutrient pudding in various textures. Under Minakshi's cup a small electronic message was put. But with no means of reading it it was left unread. Later that day all the detainees were released as they were cleared and when opportunity were given the small message was read - "Make scene, can get you out".

FTSB 4-4

Information exchange

After the commotion it was decided to lay low for a few days while going over the data gathered. Companies on the containers were the surveillance and security (arms) businesses, high end. On the data extracted from the Hegemony was various personnel files, contractive, diplomatic missives and HUS (Hegemony Unity Services) notes on personnel they have under surveillance. Including one CAUP mole. After laying low for two days you took this to Helena Floros, a meeting set up in a beauty salon, and upon hearing of the mole in the records tasked you with extracting her.
